Grandpa Pete's 77th Birthday

Thursday Dad/Grandpa turned 77 years old. I was lucky enough to get to spend the day with him. (And mom). They came to Vernal and picked me up in the morning. We drove to Flaming Gorge. It is a beautiful drive. We went to the visitors center at the Dam. We took the tour to the bottom of the dam, and even fed the fish in the river. The weather was perfect. After that we drove to Dutch John and some more sightseeing. Also had a picnic lunch. Then we drove up by Red Canyon Lodge and looked around some. The view was awesome.

We also got to talk to Madeline on her #2 birthday. I love that Madeline and her Great-Grandpa Pete share the same birthday.

I really enjoyed my day with my Dad and Mom. After getting back to Vernal I got my family and we all went to Becky and Kelly's for a birthday dinner......and birthday cake and ice cream.

I thought it was a perfect day!

UNCA DANIEL!!!

I was teasing Madeline and she was laughing so hard she was crying and couldn't breathe. I said, "Say uncle, say uncle!!!" and she squealed, "UNCA DANIEL!!!" Maren and I laughed our heads off. I'm sure Madeline had no idea why "uncle Daniel' had anything to do with her suffering, but she knew that that was the magic word! It was awesome.

Yukata be kiddin' me...

Okay I don't even really have anything to say but I figured we could at least find SOMETHING to talk about besides dogs. So Kelly, Jess and I tried on our yukatas at Christmas. I'd never worn mine before and I don't know if Kelly or Jess had ever worn theirs before. We had fun taking pictures and traipsing about the house in them. If I had the video I would upload it of Kelly, Jesslyn and I doing the Napolean Dynamite dance in yukatas. You will have to ask one of them for it.

The Play Date

Here are some pictures of Boomer's playdate with Ellie a couple of weeks ago. They had a ball chasing each other around the yard and disagreeing over rawhide bones...

They play rough sometimes. This was before they found the rawhide.

Looks like Ellie is getting the best of Boomer this time.

"I have your bone, Boomer!"

"I can run faster than you can!"

We both have a bone.

I am going to hide my bone in the snow....

"Bone? What bone? Where's my bone?"

"I want your bone, Ellie."

Boomer is surprisingly camera shy, even though we have a taken a ton of pictures of him. In this picture I can just imagine him thinking, "Don't EVEN think about taking another picture of me!!!"

....dogs

So, it seems that no one has anything to post about on the Burdick blog. Are we really not that exciting? Okay, don't answer that.

How about if everyone puts a picture of their dog on here. We all have one. (Well, except grandpa and grandma -- you can put a picture of Lady and Penny on here).

Here is our little Ellie Lou. She is our two year old boxer. Now that she is out of the 'puppy stage' I actually kind of like her.

Now let's see Boomer.....Sophie.....Ike.....Roo.....Dixie.....and I the rest of the Southwick's dogs that I can't remember their names.

The Poulson Family

Mom just found this picture of the Poulson's and e-mailed it to me asking if I would post it here for her.
Here it is.
Good looking family! (and Sophie too).

Shoes, Shoes, and More Shoes

For New Beginnings next week we have a shoe theme. My Mia Maids made these shoes for invitations. They worked so hard on them, I just had to show someone!

The invitation was rolled up as a scroll and placed in each shoe.

Silly, Silly Girls!

Makayla and Sydney can get silly when they visit Grandpa and Grandma's house! But they sure had fun.
