Pumpkin Time

I am having a loser day today! It started by my accidentally putting Kelly's cell phone in the washer and ruining it. (I thought I emptied all of the pockets in his pants.) Yikes! Then Kelly and I decided to go to the temple after Bryson went to school. We got there and guess who left her recommend at home. You guessed it. Me! I had it in my hand right before we were going to leave and set it down to do a "Buy-It-Now" for a new cell phone. Then I just waltzed out the door without it. grrrrrrr! Kelly decided to stay at the temple and do a session without me, so I came home and decided to blog.

Yesterday we thought it was high time to do our jack-o-lantern carving. So here are the pictures:

Braden's creation

Bryson's pumpkin

Stacia's rendition of a monster

Cleaning out the pumpkins

Pumpkin Massacre

Becky's ghost pumpkin

Braden - the homeless man
Anyone have any spare candy?
He completely designed the whole costume himself, including the black eye and beard.

Happy Halloween!

We had a ward trunk-or-treat last night. Madeline was a ladybug, and we were webs to catch her. That was about as creative as we could get. I'm not sure if ladybugs really get caught in spider webs, and if Madeline really was a bug, I doubt anyone could catch her, she moves really fast and wiggles a LOT. The bottom pics are of Madeline being silly. She likes to put on her glasses and say "cool!" we're going to post a video of it on our blog if we can get our computer to cooperate. The second picture was when Madeline decided to snuggle down in the laundry basket. She was totally relaxed there. It made me laugh! We like following this and the other family blogs! We miss you all!

Maren

Everyone is hopping on the Maren Bandwagon!! Grandma Sherrie sent these pictures of Maren for me to post. (We really need to teach Grandma how to do this). As always Maren, you look so cute! Now you can't say you never have any pictures of you on the family blog.

Bryson and Makayla's Photo Shoot

Friday after school, Becky took all the big kids (and even the dog) to her house and I had Bryson and Makayla at my house. For Bryson and Makayla to actually play with each other, they have to be away from all the older kids because they don't know that they aren't as big as they are. These two kids either get along very well...or don't. Friday happened to be one of those days when they got along wonderfully. They even insisted on helping me mow the lawn. They were even good at Smith's when I took them shopping. They were pretending they were twins. I thought it was cute and got a picture of the two of them.

After I took pictures of them and went back to mowing, they decided to sneak the camera and have their own photo shoot, taking pictures of each other. Some of them turned out kind of cute.

Not bad photography for a five year old and a seven year old.
(P.S. I am going to put this post on my own blog too....sorry for the duplicate).

Cops and Robbers

Yesterday Bryson came home from school and told me all about recess. He has been playing cops and robbers all week with his new friends during kindergarten recess. The conversation went something like this:

Me: "Did you play cops and robbers today at recess?'

Bryson: "Yeah, and this is the good news. A girl I have never seen before was chasing me from the jail!"

Me (thinking it is interesting that he mentioned a girl) "Really?"

Bryson: "Yeah, and she is so pretty!"

I am thinking: What?!

Me (trying to hold back a smile): "Do you like her?"

Bryson: "Yes, I think I want to marry her!"

I had to try to hold back the laughter at this point because I was so amazed that he would talk to me about a girl. (My other unnamed son would rather die than admit he remotely likes any girl.)

Me: "Do you want to tell Dad about her?"

Bryson: "NO!!!"

He did end up telling Kelly, Braden, and Stacia later. They were as shocked as me!

Here are pics from his first day of school.

Sydney's Artwork

When Grandpa stayed at David and Natalie's, Sydney drew this picture for him. It is a picture of President Hinckley. Isn't it a cute drawing?
